On Friday, July 26th, Tour de France will speed through Val d’Isère.

The first cyclists of this 19th stage (Saint Jean de Maurienne > Tignes) will cross the Col de l’Iseran, the highest road pass in Europe, around 4pm.

In order to allow spectators to watch the event from the summit, Val d’Isère Téléphériques opens its lifts for free:

  • Fornet cable car
  • Vallon gondola

These lifts will be opened from 9.30am to 1pm and from 4.30pm to 5.30pm. No descent will be possible during the passage.

In collaboration with the Parc de la Vanoise, and in order to preserve many protected species in this area, a marked path has been created from Vallon gondola arrival to Col de l’Iseran.

Located at 2770m above sea level, be equipped!

The road will be closed. For further information, visit Mairie de Val d’Isère.

As parking spaces are limited in le Fornet, we recommend that you park in Val d’Isère car parks. Then, take the free shuttles leading directly to Fornet cable car.

A little advice: open your eyes by boarding on Fornet cable car…
